I used to remember when I was still growing up, I would meet relatives only during Christmas get together or during wake of a family member who passed away. Sadly, relatives are all over the world cannot come home to the Philippines to attend to their wakes.

Recently, Tia Zeny, Diko Bogie, Tio Freddy and Ate Kit passed away due to illness.

Long Overdue Reunion - BGC, Taguig on Feb 2017

My Ate and I had planned this reunion for a long time. However, everytime I come home, I get busy and since I stay only for a short while, we never were able to gather cousins in one place. With the help of Dennis, my nephew, we started calling some relatives who are interested to meet. One of the the problems is where should we meet. Towards the end, it was decided to meet at Bonifacio Global City. We actually ate in two places. At Wooden Spoon for late lunch and at Mon Kok, a Chinese restaurant also in BGC for early dinner. And to top it all, we had coffee at Dunkin Donut. We all reminisced about our early days growing up in Malabon with other cousins.

Paaralan ng B.T. Lazaro, named after Benjamin T. Lazaro

Karen Espaldon, grandaughter of Tio Benjamin, posted this on Facebook
I thought some of you might be interested in this school in Mindoro named after my Lolo Ben. He, my Lola, my aunt Norma, and my mom went on the run from the Japanese who were hunting for my Lolo during the war. They ended up in this small town and my Lolo and Lola (who was a nurse) provided medical services to the people. In return, the town named the school, Paaralan ng BT Lazaro, after him. My aunt Neng was actually born in Mindoro.
you can check on the Facebook page of the Paaralan ng BT Lazaro by clicking on the link.

Granddaughter of Pomposa Lazaro Crisostomo

Madison Cuchran is Ate Neng's granddaughter (daughter of Claudine, her oldest daughter).
Ate Neng's story about her grandchildren: Actually, Madison is a freshman in high school but was selected to play for the sophomores in their school. They won championship. She has an older sister who is also accomplished who was given a $250,000 dollar scholarship in college when she was only in grade 8. She is the no.5 best athlete nationwide (US) in the girls high school softball team. They appear on TV sometimes. Academically, these athletes have to be A students or they get taken out of the team.
